16 March 2022––Traditional Spring, Summer, and Fall Semester
BYU anticipates the upcoming spring and summer terms and fall semester will operate like traditional terms and semesters.

Consequently, BYU will discontinue the requirement for on-campus students and employees to report their vaccination status.

The university continues to encourage vaccinations and boosters. Individuals may choose to wear a mask in any setting.

These decisions are subject to change depending on trends in disease prevalence and guidance from state and local governments.

Per the CDC, individuals who come into direct, close contact with a positive case of COVID-19 are currently not required to quarantine, unless symptoms develop, if they have done one of the following:

  • Received a booster dose
  • Received a second dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine within the last 6 months
  • Received a Johnson & Johnson vaccine within the last 2 months
